Stay Out of the Sun Day

Stay Out of the Sun Day

Every day, people are exposed to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation. UV radiation is a form of electromagnetic energy that comes from the sun. It can cause skin cancer and other serious health problems. That's why it's important to protect yourself from the sun.

One way to protect yourself from the sun is by staying out of it. That's why we have Stay Out of the Sun Day - to remind people to stay in the shade whenever possible, especially during peak hours when UV radiation is strongest (between 10am and 4pm).

There are other ways you can protect yourself from UV radiation, too:

-Wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day
-Wear sunglasses that block 99% or more of both UVA and UVB rays
-Wear a wide-brimmed hat for extra protection
-Stay in the shade when possible
